True Night Deposit Safes are usually installed by banks and/or other financial institutions to allow their customers to deposit cash after the bank has closed for the day.
This type of installation consists of a small swing-open door, a chute through the wall and a safe on the inside of the bank to accept the deposits.
Each customer is provided with a key to the swing-open door and some lockable pouches for the cash.
This facility enables merchants who close their stores long after the bankers have gone home to deposit their cash in the bank as they may not have safes strong enough to protect their cash overnight. A formal deposit is done the next day in the usual manner.
