Fire-File To Protect Your Important Documents Against Fire
Fire Files
A fire-file is an absolute necessity if you have important documents in your office or home that you simply can't afford to lose in a fire.
A Godrej fireproof filing cabinet (fire-resistant filing cabinet) is designed and manufactured to provide protection for paper documents in two categories, namely, one hour and two hours.
The cabinets are tested and certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories, USA) for one-hour and two-hour ratings in accordance with UL Standard 72, Class 350, for:
1. Fire Endurance
2. Fire and Impact
3. Explosion Hazard
in accordance with UL Standard 72, Class 350.
For the fire endurance test, the cabinets are subjected to temperatures of 1850 degrees Fahrenheit (1010 degrees Celsius) in a furnace for the one-hour and two-hour tests.
For the Fire and Impact test, the cabinet is dropped from a height of 30 feet (9.1 metres) on a pile of rubble. In order to pass the test, the drawers should not fling open upon impact.
In the Explosion Hazard test the cabinet is inserted in a furnace which has been pre-heated to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit (1093 degrees Celsius) and kept in the furnace for 30 minutes. The cabinet passes the test if it does not rupture or explode.
Godrej fireproof cabinets are designed to accomodate standard size hanging files (British Foolscap and European A4 sizes).
The one-hour rated cabinets are offered with an external depth of 805 mm and 670 mm.
The two-hour cabinets are offered with a depth of 835 and 700 mm.The most popular models are those with four, three and two drawers.
